The Los Angeles Lakers grabbed another massive win despite Luka Doncic rested. Luke Kennard got an impactful cameo with 20 contributions. The Washington Wizards had back-to-back massive defeats.
The game was scheduled at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, where the Los Angeles Lakers faced the Washington Wizards. The result was a big one for the Lakers, 120-101, despite Luka Doncic not playing against the Wizards.
Luka Doncic’s Rest:
The Lakers were decent, scoring 120 points, where LeBron scored 21 points and 12 assists. A pure masterclass by an NBA legend at the right time. But the key highlight was Luke Kennard, who featured for just 23 minutes and scored 19 points and an assist. This performance shaped the game around the home side. Austin Reaves scored 19 points and nine assists, while Jaxson Hayes added 19 points. The Lakers grabbed a lead in the first quarter, and in the 2nd quarter, they scored 40 points. In other quarters, they were just decent with slight differences. There was a clear favourite as they had a 30-point lead at one point.
Wizards collapse in 2nd quarter:
At the start, the Wizards were decent; they grabbed a one-point lead after the first quarter. But the deficit in the second quarter haunted them until the final whistle. The third quarter helped them to lower the deficit, but they still trailed by 15 points. Will Riley was impressive, scoring 20 points and two assists, while Justin Champagnie contributed 20 points. The edge they had was until a few minutes into the second quarter, when they were leading by four points. Somewhere, defensive fumbles led them to a 19-point defeat.
The game was quite entertaining for the Lakers, while for the Wizards, it was terrible. Now the Lakers are set to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, a tough one for them. The Washington Wizards will host the Philadelphia 76ers in a home game.
