On Thursday, February 19th, 2026, the United States defeated Canada 2-1 in overtime in the gold medal game to win the eighth gold medal in Olympic women’s ice hockey history. It was the third gold medal for the United States in Olympic women’s ice hockey, as Canada took their third silver medal in Olympic women’s ice hockey with the loss. Switzerland claimed their third bronze medal in Olympic women’s ice hockey with their 2-1 overtime victory over Switzerland in the bronze medal game. The tournament was held in Italy, with Milan as the host city.
Hannah Bilka of the United States and Thea Johansson of Sweden scored the most goals during the tournament with four, while Aerin Frankel of the United States led goaltenders in save percentage at .979.
