Dončić’s Triple Double
The Lakers once again dominated in attack, where Luka Dončić delivered a one-man show. He scored a triple-double: 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. A pure classic performance from the Slovenian star player, providing a master of art. While strong support from Austin Reaves also added 31 points, exploding offensively in the second half. They just lacked in three-pointers, where Luka added a few good ones.
On the other side, the Lakers’ defense was at its peak, where they dominated Minnesota. This restricted their attacking chances. The Timberwolves were pretty good in three-pointers, where they scored more three-pointers than the home side.
Minnesota fumbles:
The visitor was great in the first two halves, where they got a lead as well. The highest lead they got was eight points. But a slow third quarter costs them a lot, pushing them away from the win. Anthony Edwards wasn’t good enough for the night, shooting just 2 for 15, despite scoring 29 points and five assists as well. Karl-Anthony Towns was pretty decent for the Timberwolves with 22 crucial points and three assists. He was efficient inside and kept Minnesota in the game.
Defenseline was not too good for the visitors. Jordan McLaughlin helped maintain some pressure on the Lakers. 12 points off the bench was a brief attempt from Jordan. Rudy Gobert was a key defender with limited scoring chances.
At the final whistle, the game went to the Lakers, but overall, it was a hard-fought battle for Minnesota. The confidence the Lakers needed was achieved, which will help them in the upcoming fixtures.
