After downing the Oregon Lightning 40-17 on the road Sunday night, the Barrels were set to host the Lightning this Saturday in the second game of the back-to-back. However, this rematch was not meant to be as apparent logistical issues caused Oregon to forfeit the planned contest.

In an official statement provided by AF1, the game was called off “due to adequate travel arrangements not being secured by Oregon’s current ownership.” The Barrels will be credited with a 1-0 victory, improving to a 7-2 record on the season with the playoffs drawing near. The forfeit compounds an already turbulent season for the Lightning, who fall to 1-8 with the loss.

The unique situation essentially creates a two-week break for Kentucky, whose next scheduled game is at home against the defending champion Albany Firebirds on June 27th.

Regarding refunds for the cancelled game, tickets purchased via credit card will be fully refunded to the original method of payment (usually completed within 30 days), while tickets purchased with cash can be refunded at the Truist Arena box office between 10 AM and 5 PM Monday-Friday.
